While all those players are still working, why not taking the chance of ripping all your collection...? Just asking, maybe not all players can/offer.

I know. But from what I read, it is even a bigger pain finding players...Because ripping sacd/dsd is a pain?
Far easier to find players (I have several) but ability to transfer to gear is limited.....in any meaningful wayI know. But from what I read, it is even a bigger pain finding players...
Then, pardon me, as I am the least of SACD lovers, that is a fact.
Isn't it that once you can get the stream to your box, you can dump it to a file...? I'm talking a Linux box, of course, but the same might apply to other OSa as well...Far easier to find players (I have several) but ability to transfer to gear is limited.....in any meaningful way
Yes, with one of the compatible Sony Blu-ray players, it's incredibly tedious. Open the drawer, insert the SACD, close the drawer, and after it opens automatically, insert the next one. It's a real hassle...Because ripping sacd/dsd is a pain?
I wished I had bought a couple of OPPO UDO-205!This is why I have 4 Oppo disc players
I have many SACDs and DVD-As and I don't want any problems...

As I repeat myself, I am neither an exoert, nor a lover. Just want to know what all this mess is about... ;-)
This procedure or you have another way? https://quadraphonicquad.com/threads/sony-blu-ray-players-used-for-sacd-ripping.26078/Yes, with one of the compatible Sony Blu-ray players, it's incredibly tedious. You get my sarcasm
If you want to convert it, you can run it in batch mode; starting the process takes a few seconds.
I didn't think the PS5 plays any kind of audio CD, unless something has changed?I wished I had bought a couple of OPPO UDO-205!
The Sony PS5 still plays SACD
Doesn't show as a playable disc in the manual....older PS3s were able IIRC (but my later PS3 wasn't).I didn't think the PS5 plays any kind of audio CD, unless something has changed?
Japanese sourced PS3s were SACD ready, but Sony themselves crippled these units in later software/firmware updates by limiting their capacity to output hires over Toslink. They can still read SACD, but they output standard PCM, so it defeats the purpose. You can still revert this by jailbreaking the console for SACD rips, but not for native playback.Doesn't show as a playable disc in the manual....older PS3s were able IIRC (but my later PS3 wasn't).
Mine is more recent and purchased in the US, which made it a non-option afaikJapanese sourced PS3s were SACD ready, but Sony themselves crippled these units in later software/firmware updates by limiting their capacity to output hires over Toslink. My PS3, for instance, has the SACD logo on its back (it was bought in Japan back in 2006).
Yep you are correct!I didn't think the PS5 plays any kind of audio CD, unless something has changed?

Sounds like a real pain and also I don’t like downloading software from the internet not knowing that it’s not infected with a Trojan virusThis procedure or you have another way? https://quadraphonicquad.com/threads/sony-blu-ray-players-used-for-sacd-ripping.26078/
Thank you what kind of speakers doNo, it's the same system. An Atmos 9.1.6 set up.
Two reasons:
The main reason is that many music discs, in particular Blu Ray audio and DVD-Audio require a monitor to get through menus, sometimes to set up audio preferences etc. or to make track selections, and I can't stand the bright light of a large monitor, it breaks my concentration. By analogy, a 55" monitor is like stage lights, the little 22" monitor is like a candle.
Second reason, I've had audio/video syncing problems (aka lip sync), so I'm experimenting with connecting the sources (in my case, the UHD player and Apple TV) directly to the monitor, with audio via eARC for (I hope) better communication between the TV and processor. In that case I am stuck with leaving a large monitor on even if I'm just listening to music. I can, of course, shut off the picture, but it still sucks up electricity, in comparison with the 22" (about 15 watts), and as mentioned above, I really hate the intensity of a 55" monitor to just get through some menus.
So yes, I could in theory just use the X800M2, but I much prefer keeping it as an audio player. In the U.S. an X800M2 plus an X700U at current prices from that monopolistic online retailer is about $600, and there are frequently "used like new" available at a fine discount. Of course, if I was not able to afford (or weren't so annoyed by the big screen with music), an X800M2 would do the whole thing, as you are pointing out. On the economics, if you listen to a lot of music, a large monitor will increase your electric bill.
Unfortunately, it’s because 99.9% of the population does even know what SACD are and cares!Just got my X800M2. Interesting that there's no indication it supports SACD or DVD-A on the box or the front of the unit, the logos only appear on the back of the unit.
Yes SACD is dead for the main stream but if you are into classical music it’s very well alive check out the websiteUsed market now. SACD is dead, but if you love it buy used. I have Denon player from 25 years ago that played most formats. 2910 I think in its box with remote? I’d have to go in the basement and check but last time I used it was working great. If I cared to sell it I’d take $50 bucks for it at a garage sale. My guess is it works perfect. The problem with this gear now is everyone thinks their player they spent $1k on 30 years ago has value. My thinking is give my kid this player along with 1000 CDs and say and sell it on eBay or geek out if you want.
I don’t think so no found a single oneAre there any dedicated SACD players with HDMI? Any that still get produced?
