SACD ISO file(disc image file) conversion process

What's the easiest way to convert a SACD ISO file to transfer to my DAP? It's a disc image file.

I assume after extraction it becomes a DSF file?

You might need Java Runtime as well

Sonore - ISO2DSD - converts ISO files to DSD

 

[Enterion]

Run the ISO through Sonore ISO2DSD (File Input) and Output Mode: Sony DSF.

If your DAP can handle DSF file you are set, if not, do a batch convert to FLAC using JRiver or a similar tool. Note, JRiver can batch convert on the fly to a DAP which saves a step and you don't end up with duplicates.

Roon can transcode on the fly via ARC which is how I would enjoy them while driving around.

Yes, it plays DSF files. Dark side was sounding pretty friggin good.

Nah. Not if the mastering is the same.

But if it is mastered in DSD ideally, it would sound different

Not by virtue of it being DSD. Something else would have to be different about the mastering.

Also, 'mastering in DSD' is rather difficult. Mastering is typically done in a >1bit environment.
