Sabaj A30a announced

I had the chance to listen to the Sabaj A30a and ended up taking some photos of the inside and i could not find the AXIGN chip anywhere...the amp sounded fine but it kept shutting down on loud transients...may be you guys can comment about these photos?

Here (AXIGN chip)..:

As you can see, we also can't see the STA516BE chipset, which probably means the AX5689 chipset must be underneath the PCB. We can also deduce that the cooling system is underneath.

Obviously, you did not click on my answer... (cause you would have seen the STA and AX...)

The circuits and ICs have already been discussed; this starts around post #1050-#1080 in this thread.

The switching off only occurs with very few loudspeakers where the crossover becomes extremely low-impedance far above the audible frequency.
Often, the problem can be solved by modifying the crossover. This is discussed starting with post #1799, and possibly earlier.

Thank you, @Vlasis, what speakers/subs are you useing with the A30a and do you have an impedance graph of these speakers?....

There are two versions of VMV A2 (corresponding to manual version 1 and version 1.2), the the menu of A2 V1 is without sub cutoff option (same as the one amirm measured), but with additional amp gain control. According to SMSL tech support, V1 cannot be updated to V1.2 by firmware, so V1 and V1.2 might have different hardware implementation. A2 V1.2 is same hardware as A30a.

Thank you, @Dsggolv77, Yes, that the SMSL VMV A2/V1 (as measured by amirm) cannot be updated to V1.2 by firmware, suggests as you have indicated/mentioned, that the SMSL A2/V1.2 and Sabaj A30a are not an identical hardware/design to the SMSL VMV A2/V1, doesn't it? This implys that the V1 and V1.2 Measure/s will/may not be the same, which is reasonable?

Once, noticed a Measure of the Sabaj A30a/V1.2, indicateing that the THD+N was >103dB (if it can, again, be found/located) then this also would indicate/support what you have indicated/mentioned, wouldn't it? Manufacturer Claims/Specs, of the Sabaj A30a/V1.2, suggests.... THD+N 0.0008%/SINAD 102dB, SNR 116 dB, Crosstalk/Channel separation 108 dB, which indicate High Performance (Higher than SMSL VMV A2/V1), don't they?

Thank you, @Dsggolv77, the SMSL VMV A2/V1 THD+N was about 95/96dB (as measured by amirm), wasn't it? So if the Sabaj A30a/V1.2 is not an identical hardware/design then the Manufacturers Claim/Spec with a THD+N 0.0008%/SINAD 102dB, might actually be correct. That is a 6/7dB improvement, isn't it? It would also explain why many like the Sabaj A30a, wouldn't it :=)

Perhaps best to ask @Roland68, he knows the internals of both quite/very well, and can better discuss your findings/post....

Seems pretty unlikely that you can hear distortion or noise at -95 dB at all - let alone the difference between -95 and -102dB

Unless you can hear someone shouting at a distance of over 4 miles. And then still hear them when someone is shouting at the same volume - from one meter away.

i used Dunlavy 3a....i do not have graphs but the impedance of the Dunlavys is fairly benign
Thank you, @Vlasis, your reply suggests >4R minimum, doesn't it, which should not cause the Sabaj A30a shutting down issue, should it? How old are the Dunlavys? How loud are the loud transients, such as what is the volume setting, which input (Analogue/SPDIF/USB/etc), what is your Sabaj A30a Version, anything else that you might consider helpful in assisting to evaluate the issue.

It is working, you are enjoying it, let us see (Together/All) if we can isolate the issue....
I started with analog input but ran into an issue I have seen with some ST Micro implementations that pull in the loop filter

Regarding the A30a, the issue is not the impedance in the audible range, but rather at approximately 80–100 kHz.
The A30a also ran without any issues with 2-ohm speakers in my setup.

Well, a short-circuit in the audible range would also be an issue ;)

Thank you, @Roland68, do the Dunlavys have very, very low impedance at 80–100kHz (is that 80kHz?)....

Re The A30a also ran without any issues with 2-ohm speakers in my setup.... that is good to know :=)
