Sabaj A30a announced

I'm using a 1.5m QED usb b to usb a and the usb b is connected to a adapter which has a male usb c. And the usb a end has a generic camera adapter that plugs in the iPad. So I'm guessing this camera adapter or the usb b adapter is causing the issue, so I will try out the provided usb cable of the A30a and connect it straight from the amp to my android tablet and see if the problem persists.
Thank you, let us know how the Sabaj A30a provided USB A/C cable goes, for you :=) This is all part of the Sherlock Holmes's Principle, isn't it?….
  • as he famously stated in "The Sign of Four," is: "When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the Truth". Here's a breakdown of this principle….
  • Eliminate the Impossible…. Holmes believed in a methodical approach to problem-solving, starting by identifying and discarding ALL possibilities that are logically or factually incorrect.
  • Focus on the Remaining…. once the impossible is removed, the remaining possibilities, even if they seem unlikely, are the ones that must be considered as potential Truths.
  • Deductive (Objective) Reasoning…. this principle (a Scientific Theoretical/Applied Analytical/Deductive (Objective) Approach which can also be called Due Diligence) is a core element of Holmes's deductive reasoning, where he uses observation and logical analysis to arrive at conclusions.
  • Example…. (one of many) if an Occurrence, such as a Crime Scene, suggests a single offender/perpetrator, and evidence points to only two suspects, one of whom has an alibi, the other is the likely culprit, even if the alibi suspect seems improbable.

I'm playing Sherlock Holmes The Awakened on PS5 at the moment funnily enough.

Some, after some testing with my repaste work done, the problem of muffled sound after a while was not resolved.

I repaste it again, same thing !

I was desperate, even with a 200mm blowing some air on the bottom of the sabaj, random muffled sound appaer at some time. It's not hot at my home, 17C.

I have caught a new thing, before the sound go muffled, the sabaj loses connection for 2 second then reconnects with a muffled sound. So I changed the connection.

I tried coaxial and Toslink cables, same result, then USB, and still the same.

Today, I decided to reflash the latest firmware, version 1.12. I was already using version 1.12, maybe that will solve my problem, fingers crossed.

Edit: after reflashing the firmware, same result :/

I'm going to trash this pile of .... :/

@Tonton_ZEeD, before trashing it.... try simply pressing the On/Off button on the A30a remote. That is, press the On/Off button to turn it Off, wait about 10 seconds. then press the On/Off button to turn it On and wait for the connection to show, on the screen, as complete. I suggest this only because I have noticed that the A30a seems to like to ask for connection rather than being asked.... strange but when the A30a asks the sound seems to be ok/better/good but when asked the sound is not as good and sometimes not good.

Note that and perhaps/maybe, if the connection drops out between the A30a and the Feeding device, that the Feeding device (will highly likely) be the Asker, not the A30a.

If you try this, let us know how it goes, for you :=)

I'm very sorry you're still having problems with your device.

Perhaps we can figure out a few things together.
If you've re-flashed the firmware, you should perform a reset in the menu afterward.
After the reset, turn off the back of the device, unplug it from the power cord, turn it back on, press the volume button once, and plug it back in.
Then go through all the menu options and reset everything, especially SUB OFF, as it's probably set to 70 Hz.

Have you tried testing the device via the analog input to see if the error still occurs?

What source devices did you use via USB, Toslink, and coax?

I reset it again and following your instructions, testing now.

i haven't try analog inputs.

USB from my PC, Coax and Toslink from my topping U90 audio interface.

But does that mean the original source is always the PC via USB?
Have you verified that the problem is really the A30a and not the previous source?

Yep, PC>usb>U90>coax or toslink>a30a.

i trying PC>usb>a30a at this moment, again. Volume at 20, no sub connected, sub off in the menu. EDIT: 20h58, it failed again :(

My dac, a Topping D30pro is connected to the U90 to, never had a problem.
When the a30a start to sound weird i switch to my headphones via the d30pro into a amp and it's fine.

I can try PC>toslink>a30a directly.

I tried PC>toslink>a30a directly it failed
I tried Wiim mini>toslink>a30a, it failed.

I thinks the input part of the amp is faulty. :/

Thank you, if the reset failed then perhaps you could/should try reapplying the Firmware/FW, why? well the FW will be stored in SS memory and perhaps an area of that memory has become damaged (as can happen with SS memory, can't it?). Reapplying the Firmware/FW will position it in an area that is working and not damaged. @Toku or @Roland68 will be able to assist you with reapplying the FW, especially because they have done this at least once (I have not needed to, as yet), also refer to @Toku Pg22/#433

How long have you had the A30a, is it still under warranty? If still under warranty you should first discuss Sabaj and let us know (as we have discussed this with you) what they have advised/instructed you to do?

I already reflash the FW, CF post #1683.

I had it 2 years +, i bought it the 17 september 2022, it isn't under warrenty anymore.

Ah, well, try discussing with Sabaj and let us know what they have advised/instructed you to do? Note that there other (possible) aspects that can be mentioned/investigated, such as SMPS, LC module (Inductor/Capacitor, and the remainder of the PFFB circuit) and the Input section (as you have mentioned) but there will be an expense to investigate these, won't there?

Let's see what @Toku or @Roland68 advise but still, try discussing with Sabaj and let us know what they have advised/instructed you to do?

@Tonton_ZEeD, I asked Sabaj that I would like to download the A30a/firmware v1.2 and where and how I can download Sabaj A30a firmware v1.2 but as yet no reply from them.

To ask, does anyone have the Sabaj A30a/firmware v1.2 (I think that it is a Zip file, isn't it?), that works, could you post/attach it here and/or provide the download link here.... thank you :=)

Sabaj A30a V1.2
The lowest point is the firmware V1.2

I found the problem at last. It's my electrical installation. Too much things on the same socket and it could trip the power proctection in the amp.

Now the amp is in another socket and another line from my "home board" i don't know the term in english sorry.
A diffrent line than my pc and my sub.

I tested it all night yesterday, when i woke up this morning it was fine. :D

I already rise it by 100mm

The thermal paste was very poor quality and amp is on the part of my desk which is a metal plate with holes.

Here a picture from a review on youtube :)

So you essentially you did all this for nothing since the problem was related to the multiplug adapter with too many plugs in it.
By the way, what do you mean with "thermal paste was very poor quality" and where did you apply it? Did you take any photos?

Well, maybe, maybe not for nothing, it's the ionly piece of equipment triggered.

I didn't take picture sorry, i apply thermal paste on the bottom lid, where is the mosfet (i think it is) touch the lid to cool. The original paste was dry.
