Isn't it just a convenient answer with little to no value?
"something better"- what does it even mean? in what terms? performance, power, money?

Any news?
Yup the amp is here.

What can I say, it's good very good.
Previously I had smsl a300 and it was brighter sounding, no wonder it's frequency response is load dependant. Sabajs supposedly not. So Sabaj is a bit more neutral sounding. Also what was bothering me with smsl was hiss coming out of twitter.

It wasn't big problem as his was audible from about 10-20cm but still it was bothering me.
Sabaj is much quieter, I'm not sure if I can hear anything with my ear glued to the twitter.

Also it's power handling seems impressive, it has that upper hand when you push it harder.
So what can I say more I'm very happy overall, I'm using toslink with TV USB is connected to small nuc (Roon server) and line in is used with phono as occasionally I like to spin vinyl. No problems with any of those scenarios, everything is working just fine.

Overall built quality seems to be solid with one nitpick, encoder on the front is loose, wobbling and just feeling awful when you use it, even though the knob itself has nice feeling to touch - its fully aluminum.

Try this:
But why? I don't have a ground loop issue or any hiss/hum problem.

"I will describe the changes as best as I can. The treble is calmer, but it has not lost any detail, on the contrary, the cymbals are nicer, micro details are more audible. Vocals sound better, they are more expressive, they are more forward. The stage has widened and deepened. The bass is definitely better controlled, weighted. Overall, it is so incredibly dignified, calm, and at the same time dynamic, there is a greater kick. "
Try it !

Reviewers on Amazon have experienced issues with the subwoofer volumes, just like with cheaper amps. Too bad.

Any product recommendations where this problem doesn’t exist? USB required.

Hello there.
I have bought a preowned Node 2i and now i am wondering on what amp to use/buy.
I the past i have used a Pioneer VSX-LX60 avr receiver but now i want to have something that only has 2-channels.

I have been looking at these.
Sabaj A30a
XTZ Edge A2-300 (poweramp)
SMSL AO300
Or any other suggestions?

I do own XTZ 99.26 speakers and Lyngdorf BW-2 Subwoofer. I also own a Arendal 1723 Sub2S but are going to sell it.

Thanks in advance

//Daniel

Based on the comments from others about the Bluesound's poor DAC, I'd say you want something with digital inputs.

If I didn't already have my A30a and I were in the market for an amplifier with digital inputs, I'd be torn between the A30a and the SMSL AO300. On paper, the AO300 doesn't claim to be as clean as the A30a (0.003% THD+N for the AO300 vs 0.0008% for the A30a), but the built-in headphone amplifier and HDMI ARC, plus the fact that the AO300 is cheaper, may be enough to swing it for you.

Right now, it's difficult to say that the Sabaj a30a is better than anything. I have been interested in it since it came out, but have never found any independent testing results.

There are reports of volume problems with its sub out, the sta516 chips in it are somewhat old, first coming out in 2014, and the amplifier is expensive.

The PFFB by Axign is intriguing, but I have read somewhere that the patent on that is expiring, or already has, and TI has that capability in some of its newer amp chips.

The Merus 5332MS in the SMSL came out in mid-2021, but i haven't seen any testing of the AO300 either.

So right now, I dont see how the a30a is "better" than the AO300.

And the AO300 is half the price of the a30a, so maybe that makes the AO300 "better" to somebody else.

And besides, I can get a Hypex amp from audiophonics that has been tested with great results, that is more powerful and for less money than the a30a, and not much more than the AO300.

For me, that's "better".

Which one is cheaper than Sabaj ?

The Sabaj a30a vs SMSL AL200 and Sabaj test was better in every respect. Sabaj was connected via coax or opt digital connectors and both when compared to the SMSL AL200 using its internal and external very good quality tube DACs, Sabaj sounded better with its internal DAC. Color, resolution, dynamics.
AO300 which is based on the same chips as AL200.
