Following as well. Quite sad how there's no documentation from the official website, despite the RAW-MDA1 being a unit that's pretty much identical or better than a Topping DX7 Pro but more than half the price

I already dropped a DM to SMSL Mandy, asking him why few DAC models ( SU 9 ULTRA, RAW MDA 1) are not in the SMSL Official Website ?

Also, if its not in the Official Website, how can one get the proper support (firmware / software ) for that product ?

Yet to get a response from him

Believe if others too send such message to SMSL, there could be some clarification from them

I second these concerns. It’ll be nice to get some clarification on SMSL support accessibility for this product.

I came across one of his response to thread related to a SMSL product few days back and hence searched his name and sent a DM

As you can see @Graham849 has mentioned him in his post, thanks for it

Also, we can DM to make him know how serious and important to have their product in their Official Website

Interesting. I see that @SMSL-Mandy was also active just last week as well. Worth it to DM.. hopefully they can rectify this. If so, this unit has a great value for money, packaged in a very nice chassis in my opinion. I've also had good experience with SMSL products so far..

So today is finally DAC at home, the first impressions excellent, Cosmos measures RCA out quality at least at the Topping E70.

Quick Comparison of RAW-MDA1 vs E70 pics. Multitone was published in the same way and sound (tonality, balance, soundstage and detail) level the topping of the E70+. No click DSD/PCM bitrate switch,all works fine.

Hi bbbb4242,I would like to measure it for you but my converter was "robbed" by a good friend of mine, to whom I lent it and he liked it so much (more than the E70) that he didn't want to return it to me, so unfortunately I can't do another measurement for you, because I don't have it physically since Monday.

I kept only my two DACs DO200pro and E70 and I want to buy and try DO400 or SU-X in the future.

Yes. Outputs are selected in the menu and then on the remote control you can switch between this option and the hp output by pressing the fn button.

Can you check if you can do the same thing by long pressing of knob (like in DS100) ? Im interested if i can do fast output switching without remote.

Well, if you don't have a pre-amp that is ready for higher voltage it's better to stick to DX5 (Lite). I prefer 2/4v output because I can be sure they work with everything

If someone is wondering how good is this DAC, my take is easy to guess by stating that my SMSL SU-10 is now for sale on Head-Fi.
I do not know if younger ears than mine can find a difference in the way they sound, but yesterday I failed to tell them apart in a blind test. That is all I needed to know.
While initially I thought to be able to tell a minimal difference, when I swapped line-out and cables the difference also swapped.
I like the convenience of the headphone amplifier, so even if the price was the same (instead of being 3x cheaper) I would have kept the RAW-MDA1.

Oh wow. So is 5V worse than 4V (XLR)?

I'm going to connect this to my Yamaha HS5 speakers. Is that going to be a problem, or even worse than the Dx5?
