S.M.S.L PO100, PO100 PRO & PO100 AK - Measurements (Digital Interfaces & DAC)

Using wiim audio and the in line usb converter so i can use a spdif cable (optical) from my pc to my wiim amp pro

tidal system default output i can adjust volume from tidal but not using my usb to spdif converter, does it make a sonical difference (not the volume) using system default and the name of my converter

Can something do exclusive mode and at the same time using the samme bit and samplerate to play sound from twitch or reels, shorts or youtube ?

I want to have the bit and samplerate that the music is using tidal but still be able to hear sound from youtube, twitch or what ever im also listening to while listening to tidal

Like listen to tidal and be able to adjust the volume + have the bit and samplerate the music is recorded in as a background music + what i watch that also has sound

Are they equal?
Definitely different, both hardware and firmware.
The PO100 still appears to be based on the XMOS XU208.
The PO100 2024 is based on the XU316 and was equipped with MQA, which was still extremely important in July 2024  .

No argument from me about the silliness of MQA!

That said, I'm pretty sure the reason this new version of the PO100 is based on the XU316 is because the PO100 Pro is based on the XU316. So I would assume that when they brought back the regular PO100, the XU208 was discontinued by that point, or it was cheaper to just use the same XU316 from the Pro - or maybe even just buy Pro boards except without the extra connectors soldered onto them - streamlining, economies of scale, and so on.

personally i wouldn't know if it's played in mqa, i just wanna have lossless quality every time on tidal

MQA and lossless are mutually exclusive.

I have an SMSL PO100AK, connected to a USB TV set-top box with Android 14. The sound goes perfectly through the optical cable to the Denon AVR X1300 amplifier. When I connect the RCA outputs, there is almost no signal from them. I listen to VLC, KODI, and at maximum gain, the sound is almost 0. Is it the driver or something else?

The RCA outputs on the PO100 AK are adjustable via the computer; they're probably set to a very low volume.
The coaxial and Toslink outputs are fixed.

Otherwise, I would suggest connecting it to a regular PC/Mac for testing.

So, if I adjust the output levels from a PC, for example, they can be picked up from Android?

Thanks, I'll try.

No, that was just a suggestion to test whether the RCA outputs on the PO100AK are working correctly.
The volume must be adjusted from the computer.

Doesn't the TV set-top box have a remote control with volume control?

I'll try connecting a laptop instead of the console to determine if it works correctly, tomorrow, today there is no possibility...

On the RPI4 Libreelec, the DAC PCM 5122 works perfectly with the amplifier via RCA, I tried connecting SMSL to the RPI4 via USB, but I got no sound output, although SMSL-appeared in the list of devices.

The new firmware isn't for my DAC? It's for the PO100 without AK? new firmware V3.84 from December 31, 2024?
No, wrong firmware, don't install it.
The firmware for the PO100AK and Pro is fine.

The PO series runs without problems on the RPI 4, but of course I can't say anything about your installation, you'll have to search for LibreElec and XMOS.
I would just test it on a Windows PC or Mac.

It plays perfectly on Windows 10 with driver 5.70! The default volume is -40! Even at -10, the sound is excellent(RCA)! Two questions:
1. Where can I get the driver for Windows 7?
2. How can I get Android to set the correct volume level?
The Android 14 TV box is rooted, so the main thing is to play video. I can play pure audio on the RPI 4 with Volumio installed...
Hiby Music bypasses Android's sound driver, allowing you to adjust the volume! Unfortunately, it doesn't play videos...
To make the Android 14 kernel work, should I implement the XMOS xu-316 support module?
I'll try playing around with different versions of Android.

Android phone - - - - >PO100----->Studio monitors
Using a coax cable from the Smsl to the monitors
Is it possible to control the volume like that with the phone if the monitors have an internal DAC?

You can control volume in the digital domain (i.e. via the phone), but doing it this way reduces dynamic range.
