I’ve released the public beta of RWAV Bridge, a Roon extension that exposes playback, zone control, queue operations, TIDAL/Qobuz browsing, and listening analytics through the Model Context Protocol (MCP) for use with AI assistants.
This beta is ideal for users comfortable with VS Code, API keys and basic JSON config files — or anyone who’s happy to have a go.
There’s no coding involved, and everything required (VS Code, Roo Code, RWAV Bridge MCP) is free to download.
If you’re testing AI providers, Google currently offers $300 of Gemini credits over 90 days.
RWAV Bridge works well with Roo Code — a coding agent for VS Code that also acts as an MCP client.
MCP is a new protocol that enables safe, structured interaction between AI models and real systems like Roon.

This beta runs locally (LAN only).
Apps for ChatGPT are on the way, and the Apple TV + Apple Watch apps are already working in internal testing using the same backend.

It’s still very much in beta, so do expect a few rough edges — but I’d genuinely love to hear what people think, what works for you, and where it falls over. Your feedback will help shape the next steps.
