disclaimer: i have no clue about proper audio setup or terms or anything. please dont hate me ^^
i have a room, squarish, on the east side, i have my pc, on the south side, i want a tv set up.
is it possible to buy boxes and configure them in a manner, that i can easily switch the surround setup and use it on both "use cases"? if i would sit in front of the tv (south), i would have to rotate 90° clockwise, so the sound would obviously be wrong when setup for tv (east)
any point-into-direction how to do that if possible is appreciated :)
thanks in advance for your time

Welcome to ASR. I suggest you consider Bluetooth speakers with batteries. When you want to reconfigure them, pick them up and place them where you want. You can leave them to charge where you spend the most time.

Devialet makes a very good BT speaker at a couple of price points. Bear in mind that the price quoted on their website is for one speaker.

Bang & Olufsen make a larger range of "lifestyle" speakers. Many people here pooh-pooh them for being overpriced, but you do get what you pay for.

You can of course consider a powered active speaker like ASR's favourite Genelec and Neumann's. The problem is the cable. If you don't mind snaking the cable every time you want to reconfigure your system you should consider these. They are much better performance and value than the Bluetooth speakers I mentioned.

Good luck.

Sounds complicated. Is there a particular reason why you want to have that sort of setup?

Alternatives are to have separate systems: smaller, nearfield speakers at your PC and different speakers at the TV that are better able to fill the room. You can get amps with dual speaker outputs, or just separate amps or active speakers with separate DACs.
You could just have one system arranged around the TV and use it for non-critical background listening at the PC too

Actually, a Sonos system might do quite nicely - just turning speakers on or off as needed to change your listening space.

Do you have a budget in mind?

Perhaps it would be possible to set up a 4.0 or 4.1 system and control the speakers with different routing presets of a DSP depending on the listener position.

Let's take your example further: you have a speaker in each corner of your room (NE, SE, SW, NW):

If you are sitting in front of your PC (East), the right channel is SE and the left channel is NE.
If you are sitting in front of your TV (South), the right channel is SW and the left channel is SE.

Maybe a miniDSP Flex HT would do the trick?

Apologies - you asked for 'point by point direction' and I missed that and just typed fast!

Happy to try to explain better if you like?

An idea of your budget, how big your room is - how far away from the TV will you be - and any background on what you'd like to achieve would be really helpful :)
