In theory, it seems possible to stream Roon to Ravenna devices (Genelec in example) via a virtual sound card (Windows) or their equivalent in Mac or Linux worlds.
Your experiences (pros and cons) on the matter would be welcome :).

I can do it with MAD (Merging ASIO Driver) and send output to my HAPI II DAC. Works fine (although I generally prefer JRiver).

Exactly what Kal said. You need MAD. Versions for PC, Mac, and Linux exist.

A friend is trying to help me get Ravenna to work on Linux and Camilla right now. The problem is that MAD does not support the current version of Debian, and he had to get a non-official version maintained by some guy who doesn't work at Merging.

I was told that there is no Dante support in Linux at all. So in hindsight, I am glad I went with Merging.

I had Ravenna ALSA driver working on Ubuntu.

Extremely easy with Mac and Windows using Merging's drivers for those OS. No different to playing to a USB DAC in Roon.

Ravenna ALSA not so easy to get working but I got it. You need to make sure you use Intel gigabit NIC or you will have pops.

There are a few Dante PCIe cards with linux support. Audinate also have a linux SDK, but that's aimed at manufacturers not end users.

You might be able to pick up Digigram's Dante-LX second hand. That's the predecessor to the cards above, and the first they did the linux driver for.
