tldr: anyone mess around with optimal qtier (ssd/hdd) on this device with roon running (do I need an ssd tier and what split did you use?)
This device already hosts all my digital music, and I really want to try out roon integrated owned/streamed discovery tech.
Specs: 12Tb raid 5, 8Gb ddr4 (in dual channel)
Currently this is blazing fast for stuff I do over the 10 Gb card.
Naturally my first move was to see what hardware roon recommends, but to dump $1.5k on a box with no drive has got to be one of the all time classic pointless consumer moves.
If I understand the system correctly, all the server is doing is streaming raw content to the client which is connected to my dac, which means that the performance roon should be similar to any other application with similar bandwidth.
