Room correction tool

Am testing a Lyngdorf amp. at friends house, and when activating their “RoomPerfect correction” it’s obvious, that the system he has, needs some kind of correction.

Using Roon by the way, but any suggestions for solving this without installing very advanced and complicated software for “experts”?

Any correction starts with determining the defects. This involves at a minimum measurement of the sound received at the listening position, using a measurement microphone. From there it can be relatively straightforward and beginner-friendly but expensive, or involved and learning-intensive but free.

I’m not familiar with Lyngdorf’s implementation, does it guide you through a number of measurement steps and then calculate EQ filters to compensate for your room response? Does the result not match expectations?

Yes , I Think it does, but the Lyngdorf is only in for testing, so another solution to correct is required for his hi-fi system.

Looking for a new amp., and we then realized how much difference the room correction does to the Sound.

Alternatively, in Roon there’s a PEQ you could use.

But you have to want to learn how to do this. It goes along these lines. Except that the corrections go into Roon so you won’t use EQ APO.

You can consider using Mathaudio room EQ you need than the systemwide solution to run it with Roon. Setup is simpel one stop solution. It is more or less apo + REW in one solution. You can try it out for free with foobar2000. I got great results.
