for $109 you get this https://www.amazon.com/Behringer-Effect-Processor-CX2310-V2/dp/B07J37C68Z/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2DLCRYQMQMLWR&currency=USD&keywords=behringer crossover&language=en_US&qid=1643466199&sprefix=behringer cros,aps,219&sr=8-1

I don't understand
Its only 179€ in Finland

Thanks Amir!

Do the high and low level knobs provide gain, or are they strictly attenuators? If positive gain, just wondering if you might get better result lowering those a bit and increasing the input level.

Now someone make a 4-way with DSP and balanced inputs & outputs. And minimum loss of resolution, SINAD.

You're in luck! Somebody did! ;)

Nope.

On a side note, I'm surprised by how many people are okay with only using the low pass on their sub(s), but don't high pass their mains at a matching crossover point. I've never had as good of a mix without a 2-way crossover point. I'd rather run this Rolls unit (working around it's limitations) than not run a high pass filter on my main when running subs. That said, the cheaper miniDSP units are a better option for not much more money.

it can actually work well. Currently using no HPF for my KH120s and sub, but I'm still using a miniDSP to apply a HPF and LPF to the sub itself. I've done the same before to my surround setups too, but this is with help of FIR filters -- okay, setting that up was a bit more complex -- and one still needs a way to adjust delays.

DSP with Analog inputs make no sense to me.
Even The best DAC feeding an analog input from an DSP is worse then no DAC and just a digital input for the digital processor.

I would love to see more "professional" gear tested maybe not the cheapest Behringer stuff.
But is is always good to have this a reference point.

I did actually come across that in my search, but due to size it just doesn't work for a desktop system.

The K231 3-way active crossover looked like a good high quality candidate, but it's $500 and made zero sense to me over a miniDSP Flex for my setup.

Digital input would be fine. But something with DSP 4-way crossover & room correction, highest SINAD. balanced outputs would be awesome.

Ideally the ADC-DAC chain should be transparent, meaning if all EQ is at zero, it should sound the same for matched levels. if it's not it's not because "it makes no sense" it's because it's poorly executed.

Get a Biamp NEXIA SP used from eBay for $199 ;) I personally own 2 of those and they work great!!!

Um... then you just exactly described the miniDSP Flex. It has 4 balanced outputs, each with fully independent and customizable crossovers, unique DSP filters (PEQ or FIR) for each output channel, plus you can get it with Dirac room correction. I don't understand what it's missing or why you said no, but it seems to fit your description. Maybe I'm missing something though.

Someone needs to send this to @Amir for a test! Looks very interesting device. I had trouble getting two passive subwoofers for my diy 2-way speakers. I decided to go diy passive crossover with high/low filter. Can't be changed that easily and made for one speaker type only. Still the project is ongoing and not 100% sure if its work as intended.

Mini DSP doesn't have the power or the resolution for good transparency. It runs at 48khz for DIRAC.

lol. no, I remember that shit hahaha. we didn't need a ring-tone back than, as this was faster lol

Behringer is best value....not your option if you want the best quality, but their stuff gets the job done for cheap
I've been tempted to get this one, it's about US $125 with DSP and balanced connections:

If anyone has any experience with it, I'd be interested.
