Got ourselves a different reel to reel player (the Arken CR-101 is just too touchy and we don't feel confident trying to fix it yet) and although we need to replace a sleeve on it (already ordered in) it has the nicest sound I've ever heard.
The 8-track player player also works pretty nice, better than my other one.
The volume knobs are a bit touchy but it might just need a good cleaning. We did clean the tape heads already.
Also came with a pile of free tapes! I need a spare reel for it as I only have ones for the smaller reels (the one pictured here has half a tape on it, it was damaged halfway and broke).
