UFX II jas better mic preamp than the 802fs as far as I know. Especially digital level control instead of analog potis. And higher gain.

Looking at the specs, it seems you're right.

I'm having another issue with the UFX III: The sound quality makes it impossible to not listen to an entire (good) album once you put it on. I've lost quite a few hours so far (that I was supposed to be devoting to other tasks) to this phenomenon. Mind you, they've been fantastic hours of listening, but just warning anyone who is wary of getting completely sucked into a sublime listening experience. That also goes for quality film/TV - the new Peaky Blinders movie was a recent notable highlight.
