This was really a Peachtree show with Zu speakers playing a supporting cast. The presenter, David Solomon, is a master presenter. He has a charming southern accent and is able to articulate his message better than anyone I have seen. He had equipment all around the room starting with their 300 watt amp driving the larger ($30,000) Zu speaker to a $400 system, finishing with an Indiegogo system at $219.

He absolutely knows what music to use to demo to make his message. I actually sat through one and half of his round as it was that much fun! :)

That said, with respect to Zu, they need to partner with much higher-end company than Peachtree if they want to sell $30,000 speakers. There was no messaging around their speakers.

He played the same track on the smaller, blue floor standing speakers and while it still sounded OK, everything came out of the two boxes. The sides of the room went way out on the left and right so no side reflections which likely contributed to that.

This was on the smaller Zu. Wonderful track! Again, I was a bit bothered by the in-box sound of these smaller Zu speakers but otherwise, very enjoyable.

Played on their $219 Indiegogo campaign speakers. Little powered speakers with digital and wireless connection. Remarkable what you get for so little money.

This was a wonderful track and sounded nice.

Hey Now by London Grammar. http://shz.am/t76972909

I assume most everyone knows this track. Got fair amount of play at the show:

This was on the second cycle of the presentation on the large ($30K) Zu speakers.

Very nice and warm sounding. Excellent reverb trail. Deep bass creating a wonderful floor resonance without being boomy (courtesy of very large room and large driver).

The only miss for me was that the speakers were too far apart so what was coming out of left and right speakers somethings sounded a bit disjointed.

Harlem Nocturne by Illinois Jacquet. http://shz.am/t46882959

Hopefully this is the right version of this old track:

David explained that this was an LP rip to double DSD. The person doing the rip turned off RIAA equalization, digitized the content, and then applied RIAA in digital domain. Seemed like a nice approach. This resulted the best "LP" sound I had heard in the show.

Le Temps Passe by Michel Jonasz. http://shz.am/t66616120

(hopefully this is the right version)

We are still on larger Zu speakers and this track sounded absolutely reference quality! Again, the floor resonance was a delight and great display of controlled bass power.

I love Peachtree's approach with there little nova150 integrated. Maybe a taste overpriced but the quality of their cabinetry is beyond reproach so I'll give them a pass on the pricing. LOL

I like them too except I bought one of their $1000 DAC+pre-amp for my son and he found that the resampler/volume control was causing clipping on some of his music!

Too bad I reside in Europe or I would send you a pair of Zu's for review, but of course you review Hi Fi speakers, these are actually guitar amplifier speakers.
