Loved this room. The presenter played great clips and at high volumes. :) I think he said that was their audience: customers who want good sound and play it loud!

The room was super dark so please pardon the blurry images. Loved the airplane spinning on the LP as that is all that it did! All the content was digital.

Notice the calibration mic. I think they use Dirac??? Key to getting clean sound.

I'm So Lonely by Mighty Sam McClain. http://shz.am/t10165109

Streaming this from Tidal as I type this. Great album. Sounded good on the Mac system too but was a bit bright (not so on my system).

Excellent clip. Streaming it on my system from Tidal and it is Superb. Beautiful music and extremely well recorded. The bass is resonating through my seat in the most wonderful way.

Little Wing by Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble. http://shz.am/t345705

Absolutely superb track. Get this album if you don't already have it. I have the CD version and this track is one of the highlights for me.

So called Midwest, USA
Of all the American audio stuff, Mcintosh has held true to its roots in design, and I always smile when I see the stuff, its as cool looking now as it was when I was a teenager. Looks do matter

I met him and he tested my amps, he said and I loosely quote "those are excellent amps, keep them" Notice he put two F's in hafler

David H. O’Brien may be the face and name most synonymous with McIntosh outside of Gordon Gow. He tested more than a million amplifiers all over the United States and Canada for nearly 30 years

They do indeed. They have made high-end mainstream.
I love the looks of McIntosh gear also, none better IMHO. Never could afford any. :(

OMG Amir, my eyes! 20 lashes for you. o_O

David Hafler is a legend in High Fidelity! Lead the way with so many innovations.
I had a Dynaco ST70 driving the classic audio rig in my machine shop. Like a Timex it took a lickin and kept on tickin.
So close to SOTA at a fraction of the Marantz and McIntosh in their day.

Macs were once the darling of the high end. These days they hardly get mentioned. What happened, I wonder?

I was thinking about it and I'm not sure they're actually all that ignored.
I did a quick search at Stereophile and found 2 amps in Fall 2016 Rec Comp. The classic MC275 gets not only a Class A but also the $$$ bang for the buck award in it's group. The three channel MC303 power amp is Class A in Surround Components. You'll also find the brand getting a lot of good lip service in various articles so things could be worse, they could be getting the Bose treatment. ;)
