RIP Parts-Express (as we knew it).

They indeed were bought out according to a contact there,, but by a company called "Westinghouse Outdoor Power".
Which is odd, the last company I worked for was bought out by "Westinghouse", though a different company than this.

My shipment arrived unceremoniously without a packing list much less any ownership news.

For now, it's business as usual it seems. :)
I had an order arrive today as well. No fireworks, just business as usual. Several items were back ordered and I also have a special order pending. Hoping for a relatively quick resolution on both. However, they did prepare me for a 9-12 week wait on the special order. I get it though, they can't stock everything.

Looks like PE was bought out by private equity...
You mean to say that I will not be getting their parts catalog, any longer? :(

[ahem, RadioShack saw the writing on the wall, long ago!
ADD: ...and HeathKit before it.]

So, this is my second post. So, There are a few Drivers I have been waiting to get back on stock. I am very hesitant now to buy from them hearing this news. It was something to digest and ponder for a little. Am sad but, hopefully the new owners will thrive and add more parts we need and the company will grow even bigger. I hope Dayton Audio will still be parts express’s private brand and not sold to an outside company. I hope the owner is happy and well and has a blessed retirement. The owners have earned it.

Apparently if you try to point out a major discrepancy between their products data, and the real world performance, they just ban you from their forums. What a great company we've got here. They also refused to publish my Dayton Opal review I left because it wasn't positive. They reached out to me via email to talk about it and were incredibly reluctant to publish the review. They stated in the end they would, but never actually did. I hope they know this stuff makes them lose sales. I'm going to eat some costs and buy scan speak woofers from madisound over daytons offerings because they've just totally lost the plot.

I was looking at a 1975 Heathkit catalog just last evening.
I mean... that's not... odd, is it?

(although I was looking at an actual, 50-plus year old copy on paper... again: not odd, though... right?)

Wow So sad, and wrong at the same time. Sorry that happened to you. That does not surprise me after all these years. The owner of parts express stoled the original Woofer tester idea from Smith and Larson and put them out of business. Such tech support and helpful service from those’d guys intill the end. Also yes I would buy from Madisound as well. They have great service and selection. I have been buy from them for almost 20 years or longer. My first pair of full range drivers from them were the Fostex Fe206E drivers. Back then Larry owned Madisound and I got to me him a few time at the Michigan A.K. Fest over the years.
