Hello,
after going my first baby steps with DSP i bought an Umik 1 and installed REW. I made some measurements with the mmm method, which seems fine. But i dont get the eq section, what am I doing wrong? Why doesnt it correct the dips at around 50-70hz? Is there any tips or settings? With the housecurve app, my filters sound VERY different, like low mids and boosted high/clarity. With REW the filters sound like a little enhancement in the base and almost no difference in the mid/high section.

Any tips are appreciated. Thank you!

This could possibly have something to do with the Max Boost settings. Try to increase them to see what happens.

Note that in general it is not a good idea to boost the dips, because it may lead to bloated sound away from the listening position.

REW will only do so many filters per correction, so the first thing to try is set the top frequency range for the correction to around 300hz to just focus on the lows. This will force it to pay more attention to 50/70hz. Try setting the flatness target to 1dB instead of 2. You can also mess with max boost.

If you also want to correct higher up, do a second round of corrections and combine the files, or just do it manually.

However as others mention, only do this if you know you have the headroom for it. I don't listen loud, I listen close, and I have dual subs, so I have enough headroom to do boosts in the bass.

But it's definitely "buyer beware" when you're correcting dips, as you are turning up the bass by that much - be sure your system can handle it.
