REW - Can anyone make sense of my measurements?

I really wish I could start this thread again by asking what would be needed instead of posting a bunch of unnecessary information and measurements which do not help anybody. You live and learn I guess. :facepalm:

Just for clarification and to help you understand how Genelec active speakers (and the GLM software) work, the GLM software will only integrate other Genelec devices and not my subs. My Genelecs are the 8341 variety see here: Genelec 8341
The response from Genelec speakers without GLM applied is generally terrible but I will do as you have requested when I have time.

I am only using the miniDSP for the subs mainly to set delays, gain and EQ but I can also set the same for the Genelecs if required.

Before posting any new measurements, I will be sure to try altering the positioning of the mains as you have suggested previously to see if that bears any fruit.

I hope to be able to run another measurement sweep again very soon but I run a business so finding the time is tough sometimes!
I will post back as soon as I possibly can with the information you have requested.

Don't worry about it. What measurement you take depends on what question you are trying to answer.

It isn't. You can see from the full range measurements that it goes down to just below 40Hz in your room. That is pretty impressive for a small speaker.

After reading your explanation of GLM, I think it is best if you use your MiniDSP for DSP duties. Use your 8341 as a "dumb speaker". Turn DSP processing off and no high-pass filter. Do everything on your MiniDSP, including HPF for your Genelecs if necessary.

I think it is pretty clear that the 70-140Hz dip in your response is present in every listening position as I explained previously. Because your subs are located asymmetrically in your room, you can not low-pass your subs high enough to fill that dip. The ONLY way is to change the listening position or speaker position, or re-orient the system as suggested by someone else. If you are unable to do that, then you have to accept that dip as a fact of life.

You can investigate this yourself. Try putting your mic 1m ahead of the MLP and sweep both speakers together, full range. If it goes away, that's one potential solution. You could choose to pull your sofa out, or you could put a dining chair there. You could do something like this to find the ideal position.

I've managed to squeeze a bit of time in to carry out some measurements.
These are measurements full range at the MLP with no DSP/GLM and no XO's

You were correct about moving the mic position.
I moved the mic to the front of the couch (approx 0.8 metre) and the big dip just disappeared!
I tried to move the speakers back as much as possible but could not replicate the measurement without the dip.
I tried various positions with no luck. Nothing I can do about it so will have to live with it or, use the subs to fill in the gaps in the low end.

Well, take a look at the result yourself (with Harman target overlaid). That's all speakers and subs playing together. What do you think?
 
I think it's pretty good!! Slightly high in the top end but that can be resolved.....
I'll plumb the details into MSO and see what it churns out.....

Do I not need to align the subs and add delays to the mains etc etc?
I guess it'll be a nice learning exercise! :D

MSO will do that for you. Just check if you can use MSO with your MiniDSP.

I've already had a play around with it thanks to a two hour long tutorial I found on YouTube. :)
It certainly does work with miniDSP. You can export the results as bi-quads etc etc
