Gradient of Finland ‘Revolutions are assembled ,this pair is their ‘active’ version , the amplifiers and crossovers are in a separate unit, four pole ‘speakon’ connectors run to each speaker , two inputs to the SW ( sub woofers) and two to the main speaker.
The Revolutions have dipole ( figure of eight ) radiation, allowing the bass units to be turned to minimise standing wave interaction.
The head unit is a coaxial mid/tweeter with a cardioid response, similar to their latest Gradient 1.4 model.

Holy moly they look out there! What is the purpose of having a dipole woofer perpendicular to the other drivers?

The dipole allows you to experiment with placement, from the traditional, woofers/mid facing, in narrow rooms you can have the mid facing but the woofers facing the rear wall ( and hence the side walls ) you can even have the woofers facing the side walls ( not the same ratio though) you can even position for an L shaped room, bass is also adjustable via a trim pot on the amp.

( can ask Gradient to send you the manual which lists and pictures all the available positioning if you are interested .

Can you ask Gradient if they have any plans to resume production of the SW-57 and SW-63 woofers for the Quad? There is still a fair bit of demand for those based on how fast used examples sell when advertised.

Edit: If Gradient are production capacity limited, why not suggest that they sell construction plans so that Quad owners can DIY?
