Reviewers should have their hearing tested and post results

I still think many reviewers past the age of 50 may be more than half deaf
I think you need to understand hearing loss is not only related to the audible frequency range but also the SPL of a given sound.

Our ears do not perceive low and high frequency sounds as well as they do sounds between 500Hz and 4kHz. The faintest sound a young person with normal hearing can hear at 2.5kHz is 0dB SPL. At 20Hz, the sound needs to be much louder at 72dB SPL in order to just faintly hear it. The degree of hearing loss one has refers to how loud you need sound to be before you can hear it.

Our hearing over our lifetime is definitely in play, let alone the spl events during that lifetime....

We could just start with a general hearing test, see how many of these guys are halfway deaf anyway
The tuner on my piano is at least 70 years old: it tunes it perfectly. And I can no longer count the older violinists playing in tune and the much younger ones getting angry with the pitch...
Young people with ears in perfect condition but having "no" culture of sound and music, not knowing what to listen to, will always perform less well than older people with educated ears and knowing what to listen to...
The competence of a high-fidelity critic I assess in the way he writes, in the things he believes in and emphasizes in his writing... beyond his appreciation of sound... in the little music that emerges from his writings from one review to another... Anyone who sprinkles his writings with ideological considerations on "digital sound", on the "superiority of vinyl", on "high efficiency" will have no problem having ears in perfect condition, I would not take into account his subjective opinions on this or that device. And if I spot glaring errors: like Flac is worse than full-rate PCM: trash... the sound of Roon is better or worse than Audirvana or WMP: trash... And we find these comments in those who have magnificent audiograms and others full of holes...

Unsure about postage costs there...
Do you think it wont worth the money…?

I won’t believe you until you’ve had your taste buds tested! :)

(or until I’ve tasted one of your Manhattans myself)
The shot glasses were tested, many times.

Curious, what makes for the best manhattan?

Caprano Antica Formula Sweet Vermouth.

I can take them any which way, and do have my preferences for certain rye and bitters combinations at different times, but that vermouth is a constant for Manhattans.

Luxardo cherries are nice, though I make my own. But as a literal cherry on top, you can't beat Luxardo.
