Hello,
Here are the tests of 4 albums this week in different styles:
Madeleine Peyroux - Let's Walk - 2024
Imagine Dragons - LOOM - 2024
Renaud Capuçon - Gabriel Fauré - 2024
Johnny Cash - Songwriter - 2024
Madeleine Peyroux - Let's Walk features a high-quality, highly dynamic stereo version (DR13) and a Dolby Atmos mix, which is a basic 5.1.4 mix by Elliot Scheiner and mastered by Darcy Proper. It's a beautiful, successful spatial mix.
Imagine Dragons - LOOM: no surprise with a stereo album heavily compressed in dynamics (DR5), as shown in the waveform below:
The Dolby Atmos version brings dynamics and beautiful spatialization, as shown in the graph below:
Johnny Cash - Songwriter: the rendering is different for each track, due to the diversity of dynamic compression (between DR7 and DR10), as shown in the graph below:
The Dolby Atmos mix is dynamic (DR13), with excellent use of space.
Renaud Capuçon - Gabriel Fauré: a fine job by Deutsche Grammophon, with a very precise and dynamic stereo version, and a Dolby Atmos version that immerses us in the concert, as shown by the spatialization below:
You can find out more about these 4 albums HERE with all the extracts and measurements.
Enjoy your listening,
