Review and Measurements of Purifi 1ET400A Amplifier

...
SO! If you could buy it today, what would you do with it? Have a case lined up? Any other implementation plans? :D

I have toyed with the idea of repurposing/recycling a retro case of some sort.

Great idea. What about something like this?

I was thinking about visiting some 2nd hand shops and see what is out there.

Another thought was to make 2 stereo amps out of these aluminum cases for vertical biamping.

Ooohhh. Shiny! Tall enough for the power supply?

Any idea of ballpark cost?
For comparison, I bought a new Hypex NC122MP (0.0015% THD and 118 SNR) 2x75 watt stereo board for only $215. I would think the Purifi are much more expensive.

Then we might be in for a treat from Audiophonics in February. From a conversation I had with them 18 november:

Nous travaillons actuellement sur ces modules :

Le développement viens à peine de commencer.
Je dirais [ils seront disponible] à vu de nez fin janvier début février.

Development has just started.
I would say [they will be available] roughly in late January early February.

Thx for link. Latest info I read on PSU is that it’s under development. Hypex PSU’s work with the Purifi.

If I remember correctly the Hypex SMPS was developed by a specialized engineer, not by Bruno P.
Any obvious areas for improvement, apart from it being a business-driven decision by Purifi to offer their own?

Idle power consumption (ie efficiency at normal usage levels), in line with what Bruno has done with the ET400A compared to the nc500.

But the cable set for the PSU -> ncore connection do not fit the purify, right?

Correct. As far as I can tell, you need to hack the cable set from Purifi. There's no plug n' play solution available.

EDIT: Nevermind. Look below.
