Review and Measurements of Purifi 1ET400A Amplifier

Is there much diffrence between Ncore en Purifi?

SoundImpress HY252-2CH Stereo Amplifier | 250WPC | Ncore® | Powered by Hypex

SoundImpress PU400-2CH Stereo Amplifier | 400WPC | Eigentakt | Powered by Purifi

The Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 is a great speaker but it is comfortably outclassed by either amplifier. So both amps will sound almost identical. If you have a plan to spend a lot on new speakers in the future the investment in the Purifi amp might be worth considering

Or are there more manufacturers with Purify amps which are more faster to buy?
Maybe NAD, T+A or Marantz.
However, Marantz currently only offers an integrated amplifier.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Audiophonics amps. For me they have best value. The other manufacturers might have more bling but that is noticable in the price. Also Audiophonics ships pretty fast. 2-3 from France to Berlin for example.

As for Hypex vs Purifi - Purifi is a little more expensive for the ET400 while having less power than the latest Hypex NCX500. But Purifi has some new modules, but those seem to be not really widely available yet.

Thanks all.

Thanks will look in to it tomorrow. Seems they also have triggers build in.

I, too, have owned the Audiophonics ET-400 for over two years and can also recommend the amp unequivocally. I live in the US and had no issues with shipping or customs.

If you’re in the US, Buckeye seems to participate on ASR so you might consider them as well.

Why did you sell it?

Thanks will look in to it tomorrow. Seems they also have triggers build in.

The LPA-S600NCX does not have a trigger. It's a pretty archaic but smartly built amp (gain switches at the bottom, led can be turned off). For a trigger input you'll need that larger casing package amp, but that's about 1350 € while the LPA-S600NCX is at 1090 €.

But my humble advice: Just get a trigger power plug and hook up plugbar with your amps to it. It's far easier and works like a charm, powering on X devices with one cable.

Same here - I got a Purifi ET-400 based stereo power amp from Audiophonics in 2020 because at the time there were no sources (or at least none I was aware of) for a similarly value priced Purifi amp from a US-based seller.

From when I clicked the submit-order button on their website to when the amp showed up at my door, it was only 8 days, which is pretty great for international shipping of an item of that size and weight.

The amp performed flawlessly, and the current version they sell of it is even better, with a slightly improved internal wiring layout and a 12v trigger I believe.

Their customer service is also stellar in my experience.

Tmtomh:

I just looked at the Audiophonics website and saw the new case design. To be honest, I like the old case better but either way, it’s the clean, big sound that matters most!

The 1ET400A has been replaced by the 1ET6525SA. It doesn't change anything to it's qualities but buyers may be interested, or not, by this information.
I thought there only where 3 modules for Purifi: 1ET400A,1ET7040SA and 1ET9040BA.

There are still 3 modules for Purifi: 1ET6525SA, 1ET7040SA and 1ET9040BA. The change is happening right now and a lot of manufacturers still have stock of 1ET400A waiting to be sold.

Ok thanks, now i see it.
The 1ET9040BA and the 1ET6525SA seems to be the new ones then. But i can not find info on Purifi website only on Buckeye.

As far as I know, only Buckeye and us have started to sell amplifiers using these modules.
Purifi have not yet updated their website.

Marantz Model 10 is also based on the 2nd generation. And don't forget Audiophonics.
T+A will probably introduce its new AIO with the 2nd generation next year. Other manufacturers such as NAD and Lyngdorf will not be long in coming either.

None of these manufacturers have 1ET6525SA based amps as of now and you are shooting in the dark for potential future models. Especially for manufacturers that bought a licence to manufacture the still excellent 1ET400A.
This thread is about the 1ET400A, I just mentioned that it was being replaced and explained why little info was available about the new module.
I think that the 1ET400A discussion should resume from now.

Subjective-only audiophiles really get whiny and defensive when their beliefs are challenged - notice the above attempt at a put-down of ASR - truly lame! The person also appears to not even know what an "internet forum website" is compared to a blog.

Life is much more fun when one can acknowledge scientific reality, and still enjoy subjective pleasures - a combination of traits that I believe I share with many members here.

As another member here posted, this says a lot about the subject poster: LINK
After heeding @NTK , @Mr. Widget , @dualazmak 's advice I've taken a deeper dive into options for my new 2 channel room. Imagine a week of vacation on the beach with ASR thread after wormhole thread re: topics of education on HDMI/eARC, streaming options, countless mini DSP xxx discussions including multi sub integration, DIRAC etc.
Now landing ( guided by a podcast recommended here featuring Dylan Launder ) on this Purifi thread 18 pages into 107 :) I'm compelled to click your LINK above...read, and spit out my coffee LOL. I'm starting to feel like a part of this community as the apparent personalities express themselves with each post. Thank you I needed that this morning!
Now back to my regular scheduled programming... Review and measurements of Purifi 1ET400A Amplifier July 29, 2019... ( clicks page 19 :p ).
