Thinking of replacing Topping's stock USB Type B>A to a Type B>C. Has anyone tried to see if using a Type C connection works?

It will works, here they sell for printer uses:
https://www.cablematters.com/pc-652...-c-to-type-b-usb-b-printer-scanner-cable.aspx

"USB B TO C CABLE connects a computer with a USB Type C port to a printer, scanner, printer switch, external hard drive or legacy peripheral device with a USB 2.0 Type B port; Reversible USB-C connector plugs and unplugs easily without checking for the cable orientation".

"COMPATIBLE with devices with a USB Type B port such as a multifunction, laser or thermal printer, desktop document scanner, midi controller, midi keyboard, development board, UPS, or other legacy device from Arduino, Brother, Canon, CyberPower, Dell, Epson, Fujitsu, HP, IOGEAR, Lexmark, and Panasonic".

I changed the stock USB cable (it's too poor) with a much better one.

Mine's 1 meter (or 3.28 feet).

For power suppy, I'm using a MS-50-5, it's a lot cheaper and do perfectly the job.

Already got my JDS Atom amp too. As for RCA cables, I got those:

It sounds amazing specially after the mods.
What’s the purpose of the “linear power supply”?

I am using an Apple usb plug and it seems to work fine.

Zero benefits. See here. Apple charger is perfectly fine, linear PSU can reduce ultrasonics. which you cannot hear.

I don't see where the D50s could hook up to this MS-50-5.

With this kind of supply you need to wire it up yourself. Same thing with something like an Acopian. These are more industrial than consumer devices. Showing how overkill they are for a DAC lol

Ok, thanks. I looked at it about three times trying to figure it out :)

I'll probably have to pick up a charger because I can't see constantly switching between my DAC and needing to charge my phone. Are the Apple ones the best to get? This one? https://www.apple.com/ca/shop/product/MD810LL/A/apple-5w-usb-power-adapter?fnode=97&fs=f=charger&fh=458e%2B45d4

That would work but the Apple one is pretty pricy due to branding. Samsung etc also sell cheaper ones. I personally use this https://allo.com/sparky/5v-power-supply.html works very well, comes 110-230V compatibility and 3-country adapter. Wonderful!
3A so can power any 5V device!

Do you see the following message in that case?
----------------------------------------------------------------
Playback error
Unrecoverable playback error: The process receiving or sending data has terminated
----------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry for the late reply.
No the files were play perfectly fine. If I chose output PCM the DAC can output fine but when I switched to output DSD there were no sound. The DAC just not receive the DSD signal. I didn't encounter that problem with Sony PHA2 so I think that was an issue with Topping Driver.

Hi!
I have a D50s on order which will be fed via usb by a roon endpoint (linux-based Rpi 4 or Win10 mini-PC).
Would there be significant differences in terms of the maximum available HiRes-format between taking the linux vs. the windows route?

thanks for your input,
Sunny

Выпущены новые 4.82 драйвера. Кто уже что-нибудь тестировал? Каковы различия со старыми драйверами? Есть ли разница в звуке? заранее спасибо

Please, use english here.

I will look at it now.

I'm checking... atm.

The drivers are from 16/01/2020:
DriverVer = 01/16/2020,4.82.0.57814

Bad thing for me is, it killed my Dolby Atmos, I will need to fix it again.

Everything is fine.

Tested all DSD files (64, 128, 256 and 512). No problem.

Tested somes flac and waves (16 & 24-bit), no problem.

No perceptible audio quality differences. Must have been a release for bug fixes.
