Lyngdorf in their manual warn about running amp without speakers connected, anyone know why this is the case?

For a century or more people have been warned not to run an amplifier without a load.
So it should not be a “late onset thing” to hear for many.

didn't know that we had class D amps for century, always learn something new.

Perhaps, but it's rarely necessary with transistor amps, so for those not versed in the arts of valve/tube power amps it may come as a surprise.
