Have you loaded the driver from Fiio website? If not, the driver is here : https://www.fiio.com/filedownload/20720 . Main page for it is https://www.fiio.com/Driver_Download and click on the usb dac driver

Since we have several users here, so how are you guys at volume/gain level? I'm currently happy using gain 1 and volume around 11 for pop music and above that when listening to classical. So far never above 2 oclock. Appreciate some feedback ....owh, I'm using Senns 660s.

Volume at 12 on low gain is ideal for me on the hd650.

I now got the ATH-MSR7 to go along with the Sennheiser HD58X Jubilee. Both in use on low gain, the HD58X obviously get dialed up higher on the volume (12 o'clock - 3 o'clock) than the MSR7 (which is quite loud at 12 o'clock) (my ears of course, YMMV).

To me this looks like a guitar amp, unlike the usual headphone amp . I think it depends on what your usage is.

thoughts on cost vs performance which is better to use the FiiO K5 Pro as just an amp at 1.5watts at 32omhs at 150$ vs schiit ASGARD (as just an amp no module

addon )3.5watts at 32ohms for 250$ which is better an has less distortion , im planning to drive my set of m565 with possible future upgrades so more juice tha

better. my max bugdet for an amp is that includes shipping is 350$ ,maxxevv suggested the SP200 but if might be overkill but useful for future can upgrade
how would it compare to the FiiO K5 Pro and, schiit ASGARD. of the three opitions which would be the best to pair with my SMSL SU-8 version 2 dac id really like to

take advantage of the xlr outputs ?

It's a DAC+amp all in one. And yes it's suitable to your momentums.

I bought the HE400i but it hasn't arrived yet, I have no idea if the K5 will power the HE400i well.

HE400i has about 40 ohm impedance so it should be ok with the K5 Pro.

Luckily, since both have been measured, I don't have to own either in order to tell you.
