Revel PerformaBe F226Be Floorstanding Speaker Review

If you have the F226Be's what frequency are you crossing them to subs? Have you tested multiple crossover frequencies? Thanks.

I have these in a basement on thick carpet that sits on concrete. For me I just didn’t get enough bass if I crossed lower than 80hz. Running two 12” ported subs

That is a bass killer. A recipe for ported 18's, even.
Yeah even with wood framing and drywalled walls/ceiling it is hard to get good bass. I have to boost the gain on the subs often. They are 4 cubic feet DIY subs that are potent but wish I had 15s in this situation haha

You can see that the F328Be has problems around 1-3kHz likely arising from baffle diffraction. This isn't as pronounced with the F226Be, which has a narrower baffle. The F226Be just seems to be better controlled
if its due to the baffle width then you will same in the F206 measurement:

and for comparison sake here the F208 vs F228Be :

i think it just measurement error

Are people using the rounded spikes down on hardwood floors?
I place small rugs under my salon2s.
Can they shake the room? Hell yes :)

Yeah I'm getting a pair of f226Be's and I'm trying to figure out what to put between them and the hardwood floor.

Felt pads are perfectly fine. Or some furniture feet like the ones below. The benefit is that they make leveling the speakers easy. I don't remember if simple M2 feet work as it has been so long since I got my pair but I'm sure someone here knows. Don't overthink it. This is not a big deal. Mine are on simple round felt pads as my floor is level (enough).

Any reason not to use inexpensive sorbothane discs like these? Isolate It: Sorbothane Vibration Isolation Circular Disc Pad 0.25" Thick 1" Dia. 50 Duro with 3M PSA - 8 Pack https://a.co/d/cuEWVsv

So Sorbothane works best when you don't exceed a certain amount of compression, so you want the right hardness ("duro") and number of discs for the weight that you will put on it. You can find more info at their website.

Thank you for that, yes from what I can ascertain 50 would be the right number and four per speaker. Looks like I can get that for about 19 bucks.

The only negative that I can think of with going with those over felt pads (I am assuming you don't have any leveling concerns) is that they could disintegrate or leave marks over time. I've had bad luck with cheap sorbothane in the past but YMMV. (Back in my audiophile nonsense days I bought all those "big feet" isolation pads and the like for my audio equipment. Most "melted" eventually.)

Sorbothane can leave an oily mark behind, but it should clean off. Just in case of that, I left the paper backing on the speaker side of mine so only the side facing down is exposed. Even with the paper on the tops of them, they still stick my speakers to my stands due to the compression causing their diameter to increase and a small ring that forms to contact the speaker. But if you really want to make sure they don't move when bumped, you'll want them to stick on both sides.

Am I being overly skeptical that the Isolate It sorbothane discs that I linked to on Amazon are half the price that they are buying directly from isolate it?

I got mine there for my Buchardts.

I may remove them to bring the speakers down a little though. My ears are below the reference point when I recline.
