Revel m106 bass driver

Hi there everyone, does anyone know what's the impedance of the bass driver in revel m106, on of the drivers been damaged and I need to replace it, there's two versions of that driver, 4 and 8 ohm.
I'd be very grateful for any help

No, but everything below approximately 200Hz is the bass driver’s curve. The impedance at 0Hz is what we want to know and this looks like a 4ohm woofer.

Interestingly Revel quote the nominal impedance as 8ohm. This is odd because a manufacturer should state a nominal impedance that holds true across the frequency range for no less than 80% of the nominal value, I.e. 6.4ohm minimum for an 8ohm speaker.

If I were you I would be contacting Revel and ask for the exact spare part code for the M106 woofer.

Not sure how accurate this is but I think it's the same 6.5" for the M106. Doesn't help for impedance, though.

I've seen that article and just don't know which should I order, 4 or 8 ohm as it will most likely be cheaper then replacement from revel, thank you

I'd probably do as Matt recommends above and see what Revel say. Might give some indication of impedance.

I'm 90% sure that the M106 uses the 4 Ohm version of the driver, while the F206 uses two of the 8 Ohm version.

But there should be a simple way for you to find out. Just remove the damaged woofer you want to replace and look at the part number on the back of the magnet. It should end in either -4 or -8, which indicates whether it's 4 Ohm or 8 Ohm.

Yep, that -04 indicates it's the 4 Ohm version of the driver.

The two woofers in the F206 have the -08 designation, indicating they are the 8 Ohm version.

Depending on where you live, buying the driver(s) from a parts supplier like Solen here in Canada, will save you about half the cost. I had to replace a woofer on a M105. From Revel, the cost was $252; from Solen with the SB Acoustics catalogue number $108.

Hi! I’m in the same situation as you. Revel told me they don’t have any bass drivers for the M106 in stock.

Did you end up buying the 4 ohms one? How did it go?
