Hi all,

As joiner from the Netherlands I have a question regarding my Revel M105 speakers.

I have them on a cabinet and I would like to put some feet under it. I tracked down the specs and apparently I need a 3/4" 1/4 x 20 Coarse-Thread Bolt to connect feet to it. However I do not fully understand this size/thread requirement. I guess it's a US notification, but how does that translate to NL/EU measures? Anyone from the EU that has these speakers and found matching feet for them?

See attached picture from the manual.

Welcome to the provincial world of fractional (Imperial) hardware. There is no direct metric equivalent for 1/4 inch UNC (20 threads per inch) bolts, so I'm afraid you're stuck trying to find fasteners built to a standard that many outside the U.S. would consider archaic.

The U.S. was in the process of converting to the metric system in 1980 when Ronald Reagan was elected president and the forces of regressive 1950s-centric world-led-by-the U.S. nationalism prevailed. (I never quite understood this. Presumably Ronnie had ten fingers, so one might imagine that he could have fathomed metrics. Maybe he thought everyone should have two sets of tools.)

Thanks for your reply!

Based on your 1/4 unc comment at least i found some bolts that should fit....

3/4" x 1/4 x2 0 means the screw is 3/4-inches long, 1/4" diameter, 20 threads per inch. Personally I would much prefer metric.

Me too, and the funny part is that Revel seems to mix standards in their manual.

But unfortunately no metric system for connections under the speakers...
