Revel F35 Speaker Review

ok , good luck with that .... btw , giving "orders" doesn't register as very sociable .... so good luck with that as well...
Well I wasn't rude to you or anything, but if you'd be a bit considerate person, you wouldn't fall into conclusions and make statements that have nothing to do with the reality here, in this room. Especially since I've described my experience on reddit with this above. You were inconsiderate, I was short with you, yet still, you neeeeed to be *right*, you found a label to put on me right away. This doesn't make you any better than those redditors I've mentioned above, who judge and make statements instead of asking/clarifying. Keep saying "good luck" in your case it's a sort of projection.

that's a whole buncha projection of intent , sorry for the misunderstanding...just curious, what was i trying to be "right " about? if it pertains to the tv over the fireplace : that's entirely subjective other than the heat displaced by a fireplace will decrease the lifespan of any electronics.. you certainly have every right to do what you want ..best of luck ... :)

If I read the charts correctly, there is no point to buy the F35 over M16, unless F35 is cheaper, and you have a really big room and need really loud speakers.

At the same price range, Polk audio R500 ($450 each) also seems to perform similarly to F35, according to the measurements: https://www.erinsaudiocorner.com/loudspeakers/polk_r500/

F35 has better directivity at > 8 kHz, and is more sensitive, but Polk has smoother response.

At sale prices, I would take the F35 over the R500 for sure. At MSRP, the R500 is a bit cheaper. However, I'd probably still want to go for the F35. Primarily because of that "ring pinnacle" tweeter in the Polk. I think their ES line are excellent budget speakers, but the Reserve line has that tweeter that I find objectionable. You can see in the measurements that it just doesn't really seem to have any redeeming qualities over a dome in a waveguide. Quite the opposite. It seems to be one of the many cases of using something other than a dome just for the sake of differentiation, even when it's detrimental to the performance.

the extra "air" the polks provide would be a reason to order them over (most) wave guide speakers , if that's a desire .. it obviously depends on set up...

Crutchfield is currently selling new samples of the Revel Concerta2 F35 floor-standing loudspeaker in High Gloss White for $449 each.

Amazing prices from Harman to the buyer of new speakers like this.
A bit of a kick in the teeth to used prices for prior owners.
I'm not really sure how I feel about this type of marketing ???

Suspect Revel will eventually update Concerta and Performa. Who knows when.
Maybe. but I see this going on across Revel and JBL often without any movement as you described
Then they come off-sale and go back to full prices?
I believe these types of "sales" should be accompanied with "close out" announcements to protect the used value of prior models owners.

If Revel follows the JBL or Infinity marketing "model", might as well sell them at Ollie's.

Nearly everything loses value over time. If prices go up right after a purchase, do you lament the poor retailer who just sold it for less?

true,, i have the habit of buying *only* sales/ used items, with very few exceptions, so my bias goes opposite of yours .. neither is"right" just different approach, i have to stay patient when buying , your going to need to be patient when selling...
