Hi guys!

I am looking at a pair of used Revel F30 but one of the speakers has a bad tweeter (see pictures). I dont know if the seller also has the voicecoil. Do anyone know if it is possible to repair the tweeter myself if all the parts are available?

If not and I need to replace the whole thing, would a tweeter from the Revel M20 be a direct replacement?

I tried asking Revel but I did not get an answer.

/Fredrik

Anybody got any ideas?

Contact Revel again and if you get nowhere do not buy the speakers- no matter how cheap they are. Mismatched or non-original tweeters are basically a disaster and you'll never be satisfied.

A few years back I obtained new tweeters for a Revel speaker that had just gone out of production. This was prior to the pandemic. I called a number in California, they took an order and sent them in about a week.

I agree with restorer-john, if you cannot get Revel to respond and know you can get a replacement I'd leave the deal alone. Or it would have to be dirt cheap.

This is in the manual to the F30. Maybe calling it they would sell you a tweeter and ship it to you. That is what they did for me and I was not the original owner.

IMPORTANT: If factory service is required, please obtain a return authorization number before shipping the defective unit to us. Call the Revel Service Department at 1-818-830-8777 on any business day, from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. PST.

This is another number they use for customer support.
Telephone: 1.888.691.4171

  • In order to repair the unit quickly, please provide us with the product’s serial number and detailed information about the problem the unit is experiencing, especially if it is intermittent.

Thanks for the input guys.

I will try Revel again and see what the verdict is.

It seems to be a Peerless DQ25SC16-04 (former Vifa).
All these tweeters always could easely be disassembled and the membrane can be replaced.
Just clean it and put new ferrofluid in the gap.
