BR13 PEQ works with every input. And after power cycle it defaults to the EQ setting that was previously set, unless you are talking about cycling through EQ settings with the button. I use it primarily as a DSP for my TV speakers (optical input). And yes, an app is crucial for using all of its functions. If this thing had remote with volume control and input selection it would be a killer device. You can't change input in app and volume control is a bit inconvenient. Otherwise it is absurdly device good for a price.
