Repairing a subwoofer

I was wondering if anyone had the situation where they needed to repair the driver in a subwoofer ?

Is it worth it or is one better off buying a new one?

I replaced the surround on my VMPS TallBoy sub. It cost $25 for parts and works great now. The surround was 20 years old and the material self destructed. If you have a decent sub and the surround rotting out is the problem I would recommend getting a kit to fix it. If it's not worth using even if repaired, that's another story.
