Hi all
Maybe it could be of inspiration or help to someone - so here goes
And please move the thread if there is an actual repair thread somewhere - I just couldn't find it
Found this little Denon RDC-N8 at a friend who gave up on it. I thought it could be a great little low level music back-bone for the LS50 Meta that I sold my sister - rather than the very old Pioneer that was loosing its juice.
Besides - this little thing has a sub-out, so that we could get a little extra bottom end on those mini KEF's.
It just died when we added the sub... and my brother-in-law quickly found something on the internet that pointed directly to a PWM IC that looked quite toast inside. So I can't take any credit for actually finding the error or knowing which part to replace the dodgy one.... I just did the actual handy work.... and .... it seems to work.
I used this one:
Sometimes around 15 Euro and a bit of fiddling can bring an otherwise dead box back to life, which actually works quite well, for its given purpose
