Sometimes music transcends its typical role and becomes something totally unique and incredibly impressive. This is one example from a track that came out a year ago:

Rap music has never been so relatable and well presented as it is here. Whether the underlying message has meaning or not to you, this is one impressive piece of music.

P.S. The video is shot live (he is singing and playing) which is remarkable given the single lapel mic and whatever is used for the guitar.

Ren was the highlight of the Sky Arts awards last night (middle video but I'll arrange in order - edited since original post to show videos in order)

Money Game Part 1

Money Game Part 2 (sky awards)

Money Game Part 3

He is good.
Have you heard

For Joe?

Amazing. Every song is a theater act. Every song has real messaging that he expresses with such transparency and heart felt emotions.

Amazing vid. He is an amazing perfomer.

Money Game Part 3
It is just stunning. Almost as good as Hi Ren. The level of talent here both in Ren's acting/singing/playing and Samuel's cinematography. One take and more impressive that just about any highly edited piece. Thanks for posting the series.

I figure you’ve checked out his YouTube channel and know of his background regarding the music industry, hellish lymes disease destroying his immune/nervous system, mental health issues (no wonder) and his recent troubles with his video “sick boi” getting taken down (now back up, essential viewing) with a copyright strike that had nothing to do with him and how he is fighting back, and how indeed he is fighting back

Every once in a while a genuine artist pops up, Ren is one those, he leaves absolutely nothing out of his art, much like the late great Amy Winehouse

If you have 40mins to spare then I hope you find the time to watch the following in order, it's rather eye opening and the 3rd video is a hard watch on its own but makes utter and total sense once watched in order

I know he says it is, but it's not a single take. Also, while the synchronization is practically perfect, I doubt very much that the audio recording was done during this performance.

First, it's not the lapel mic. He faces away from it, he drops his head down to it, it gets covered and re-emerges, and his guitar strap flaps against it. And it sounds like a large diaphragm condenser, recorded relatively closely (yes, the latter could be made up for to a degree, I mention this as a candidate for Occam's Razor).

Second, there is video evidence it's not a single take. Start at 2:05, his collar, with the lapel mic, has folded inside. At 2:06, the edit to a zoomed-out view reveals the mic. At 2:07, the zoomed-in view is back, and the mic's hidden again.

If you're skeptical still, set the playback speed to 0.25 and start playing from 2:05, you'll see the lapel mic bobbing around during the performance in the edit.

I was wondering if those mics are so good or if they could fix it so well afterwards :)

Until 4:43 the adjuster on his guitar strap is on top side, at 4:50 bottom side, 5:10 top side, 5:19 bottom, 5:38 top, 5:45 bottom.
