Hello everyone,

I just picked up a vintage Marantz 2220B and had it restored, but the binding posts are the old spring loaded push pin terminals.

I'm curious how I can use REL's High Level Speakon cable with this amp. I think I have 2 options:\
  1. Activate both speaker output terminals "A" & "B", hook up my REL Speakon Cable to "B" and my Revel M16s to "A"
  2. Have Prosper Cables build me a Y-splitter that will have a flexible Pin going into the Marantz, that then Y's to two separate terminals to accept the REL Speakon in one and the Revel M16s in the other
Which is best? I like the idea of just using the "A" & "B" output terminals, but I'm concerned this will put too much stress on the amp, but to be honest, I don't understand resistance and loads and whatnot enough.

Thanks everyone for the help!

A & B are simply parallel binding post.
Normally you have to be careful connecting speakers to both A & B as the impedance drops (2 4 Ohm speakers = 2 Ohm impedance)
In case of a High Level input, this simply reduce speaker level to line level. It presents a high impedance to the amp to you can safely use it it in parallel with your speakers.
REL Speakon Cable to "B" and my Revel M16s to "A"
Do, probably the most convenient one.
