Just an amp. I have an RME ADI-2 DAC FS as my source, or feeding my source material to.....a powered speaker or smallish amplifier or a small room.

This covers a broad range of possibilities. You could go for some JBL active speakers, a small class D amp and passive speakers etc.

I think for your best information search and subsequent results that starting a dedicated thread so that members of ASR can see a title in the threads is the best approach. So start a dedicated thread with a brief explanation of what you want to do like you did here and a price range so people have some starting point and then request a MOD to move yours and my comments to that thread. If that sounds a bit busy then create the thread and I'll request a MOD move over the pertinent details.
