Refreshing movies worth watching

Not mentioned here, but elsewhere:

“The Man from Earth”

Along with “Babette’s Feast”. My favorite little films!!

Watched this last night and really enjoyed it, especially the ending: The Great War of Archimedes

Like the trailer, i watched it with subtitles and Japanese language. I hear the dubbed version is awful.

The starting battle scene graphics is one of the best I have seen. I watched in my computer (youtube movies) and still looked great.
I love Japanese Movies

"Bernstein's Wall" is a very well made documentary, much of it in Bernstein's words. It gives a good sense of the whole man. It shows why he was so important at the height of mid-20th century American cultural dominance without shying away from his problematic personal life. A good corrective to the severely flawed biopic "Maestro".

We liked "28 years later, the bone temple" - the perfect antidote to Eurovision last night.

Featuring Duran Duran.

Well, if it hasn't been mentioned already,-" Taking Chance" with Kevin Bacon.. a fairly unique movie...

Departures is fantastic! I’ll check out the others here.
I had Departures on my watchlist for years and just watched recently, ended up loving it, kicked myself for waiting that long.

Another good one in more or less the same style as Shoplifters (if you end up liking it) is "Still Walking".

I finally checked out Bugonia last night, and it did not disappoint: Insane! As a comedy, not haha funny (it's actually more dark and intense) so much as crazy-absurd scenarios.

Three decades old French masterpiece Delicatessen directed by M. Caro and J. P. Jeunet fits this description perfectly. Old school camera work, without any modern fast paced cuts, I'd like to draw your attention to it folks if you don't know it yet.

Bugonia is actually a remake of the South Korean film Save the Green Planet!, which was released in 2003.

Aah yes, Delicateasen has been on my watchlist for way too long. Thanks for reminding me to finally watch it.
