Refreshing movies worth watching

WEAPONS:

The first half was an engrossing human story about flawed people, with a central mystery animating them.

Then it stumbled in the second half. The second half was , well, a horror movie. The tone changed and so did the pacing....I don't think we needed to retrace every step of the kid's story, for example.

Julia Garner was great as usual, but she had less to work with in the second half.

should there be a new category at the Oscars for AI-generated short films? :) OK probably not but i was initially captivated by this one as it played for me as an ad during another video

Be careful, just watched it and feel it was not refreshing, too long and meanders without a good ending or many plot twists. That opinion and two bucks can buy a cup of coffee. ;)

That's fair. I can see how it won't work for everyone, but it really clicked for me. Different cups of coffee, I guess :)

So true. My son thought it was great, too. Not regretting having seen it myself, just glad that I streamed it instead of the theater.

Ah, it's as I thought! Taste does skip a generation :) Just kidding!

Yeah, I don’t like theaters in general, but especially for a Yorgos Lanthimos kind of movie... Only 2025 movie I regret not seeing in the theater was Sinners.

The Limey, Terence Stamp is fantastic, sadly passed away August last year.

Watched this wonderful BBC Wales Production today - such an antidote to the current load of AI scripted, shallow, poorly acted, 'American hero saves the world again' toss on Netflix/Amazon
