Awakenings (1990) - in my top 5 - sad yet heartwarming - and cleverly made - a must watch

Intouchables (2011) - it's a fun movie - reminds people to lighten up

Despite the theme of corruption and politicing in the Vatican around the election of a new Pope, the movie is ultimately uplifting, a triumph of virtue over venality.

Conclave: 2024; Director=Edward Berger; Stars=Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, et al.

Or a repackaging of woke themes into a religious context.

Well yes -- "not that there's anything wrong with that" ;) In fact the DEI aspect isn't apparent 'till the very end of the movie. Prior to that, it mostly good ol' political smears and corruption.

For music: This Much I Know to be True (2022). Nick Cave and Warren Ellis with Marianne Faithfull. I'm fond of Tripping With Nils Frahm (2020). Also another enthusiastic vote for Flow (2024).

I liked it , but I think some scenes might be distressing for little kids.
I asked my grandson if it was scary, and he said he knew from story structure that everything would be okay.

Real life intervened, in Texas and elsewhere.

Just an hour long, a touching, award winning documentary about a family that cuts ties with the urban environment and lives in the woods of Norway when tragedy strikes. Grab your partner, some hankies, put it on the bigger screen and see what being in this family can entail. Winner of the real man award in my book. Links to YouTube and a trailer attached

Watched this last night, really enjoyed it. Very clever. If it interests you AVOID SPOILERS AT ALL COSTS
