Record Labels you love...

If you are into jazz, here are some labels I follow which generally pay attention to recording quality:
  • ECM Records: vast catalogue and consistently good recording quality
  • Fonè Records: Italian label created by Giulio Cesare Ricci in 1983. Mostly jazz and classical music.
  • ACT Music: German label with large catalog. Slightly compressed CDs but recording quality is OK.
  • Edition Records: UK label founded by Dave Stapleton.
  • Newvelle Records: mostly vinyl label which outputs albums in "seasons' and every album is a unique work of art.
  • Ozella Music: German label, an enterprise of musician, producer, and composer Dagobert Böhm. Jazz, World & Instrumental, Downtempo, Lounge, NuJazz & Electronica.
  • Clean Feed: jazz record label founded in Lisbon, Portugal
  • Odradek Records: mostly classical but some jazz and world music as well.
  • Intakt Records: independent record label, based in Zürich, Switzerland.
  • Smoke Sessions Records: independent jazz record label based in New York. Mostly bebop jazz, high quality album covers, but mastering is slightly 'hot'.
  • Fundacja Słuchaj: Polish music label with a focus on jazz and new improvisational music.
Enjoy.

Hi Records, Memphis, TN

For discovering Al Green, for the wonderful productions by Willie Mitchell and for one of my all time favorites, “Any way the wind blows” in a version sung by Erma Coffee:
