If you are into jazz, here are some labels I follow which generally pay attention to recording quality:
- ECM Records: vast catalogue and consistently good recording quality
- Fonè Records: Italian label created by Giulio Cesare Ricci in 1983. Mostly jazz and classical music.
- ACT Music: German label with large catalog. Slightly compressed CDs but recording quality is OK.
- Edition Records: UK label founded by Dave Stapleton.
- Newvelle Records: mostly vinyl label which outputs albums in "seasons' and every album is a unique work of art.
- Ozella Music: German label, an enterprise of musician, producer, and composer Dagobert Böhm. Jazz, World & Instrumental, Downtempo, Lounge, NuJazz & Electronica.
- Clean Feed: jazz record label founded in Lisbon, Portugal
- Odradek Records: mostly classical but some jazz and world music as well.
- Intakt Records: independent record label, based in Zürich, Switzerland.
- Smoke Sessions Records: independent jazz record label based in New York. Mostly bebop jazz, high quality album covers, but mastering is slightly 'hot'.
- Fundacja Słuchaj: Polish music label with a focus on jazz and new improvisational music.
