I've had a friend with a 35,000 record collection. That has convinced me not to ever do such a thing.

35,000 LPs is a massive collection. That would take up several rooms.

My record 'collection' is about 4 crate's worth. I stopped buying records in 1983/4. CD's however, around 5,000ish I guess.

I have about 2000 LPs, and still have many I haven't heard yet. I won't buy anything any more unless it is unique and cheap.

Yes it was. Took up most of the walls of a fair size room, and a good bit of space in a garage. When my friend passed away it was quite a problem to do something about.

At one time I had about 1500 LPs. Now maybe 5 for sentimental reasons. So about 1000 CDs, and some electronic files for a few hundred more albums. I could pare that down some if I tried.
