Recommendation for speakers for Denon AVR-X1800H

Hello, apologies if this is not the correct place for this question.

I have a Denon AVR-X1800H, an average-smallish sized living room, a Sony Bravia 65in TV and Apple TV. I watch movies, sports and listen to quite a bit of music. I currently use some kef q1 meta bookshelf speakers and an SVS 3000 Micro subwoofer going from the tv to the denon via eArc.

I am looking to get some very good floor speakers for this setup and willing to spend up to $6,000. I don't plan on using atmos nor do i plan on using the kef's that i have. I just want to great floor speakers and the subwoofer.

Can someone make a recommendation for me? Also, I'm not married to the idea of floor speakers and could go with some really good bookshelves, but not sure why i would do that.

That's a nice budget to have! If it were me I'd spend around $1k for an amp upgrade such as a Buckeye or similar to hook up to the front preouts of your receiver and use the other $5k for the speakers. Nothing really wrong with your Denon but speakers in that price range deserve better and will likely need more power than 80 wpc to perform at their best, IMO.

Thank you for the recommendation. Would you recommend that I keep the SVS Micro Subwoofer with these speakers, or would it not be necessary?

Thanks. The range was just the most I'd be willing to spend. If spending that much would be a waste for the Denon, I'd seek out something less expensive.

Just how big is the "average-smallish living room?" And how far away are you usually sitting? And how loud do you want?

Finally, where are you located?

Those answers will help us a lot with giving out recommendations.
