Recommendation for home cinema stereo speakers

Looking for a pair of (passive/active) stereo speakers to watch movies connected to Optoma HD 146X Projector, $500 max budget, the less the better. Room size approx. 12' x 11'.

KRK Rokit G4, either the 7’s or the 8’s would fit the active “part”, come with room dsp and decent phone app to get them sounding good in your room and at some point in the future get a KRK sub for a very good sounding 2.1 system, I use the 7’s and 10s sub and it sounds pretty full on when watching a movie such as interstellar (which is quite a frequent occurrence, brill movie, brill soundtrack.
