The review index here on ASR can be sorted by "recommended".
I would assume that your preamp's headphone output (or the DAC) has enough out signal to work with just about any headphone. In some case the headphone output on a computer, cell phone, or other "small device" has trouble with some headphones, such as high-impedance headphones that usually need higher voltage.
Notes:
"Recommended" or not is almost exclusively based on sound quality.
You may have different sound preferences, you may find one headphone more comfortable than another and most people have a preference for "sealed/closed" or "open headphones".
If possible, it's usually worth going to an audio/video store to listen and check the comfort for you on your head. And it's best if they are set up so you can bring your own music that you're familiar with.
With headphones there is almost no correlation between sound quality and price, but of course the higher your budget the more choice you have. You can get "high end sound" at a very reasonable price. But, headphones are a "different experience" and they don't sound like speakers (or a band) in an room.

video about he measures measures headphones for his reviews.
