When I calculated the output voltage, assuming a 4V input (XLR), it was only 21V with 14.4 dB of gain, which is about 110 W at 4 ohm, and half that at 8 ohm.
The Purifi 400a, Hypex NCx500 would be enough Amp for those speakers from looking at their specs. I'd probably save a few $$ and go with the older NC502MP but I'm naturally cheap.
The NC502 is a fine cool running amplifier...I got mine from VTV and am quite happy with its performance. Easily the cleanest sound I have ever experienced among the amplifiers I have owned.
If you need high power the hypex nc502 is bridgeable and that lowers distortion, noise and effectively doubles the power output as well as halving the output impedance. lots of benefits to running those bridged. Thinking about getting a couple of these running in bridged mode for the main left and right speakers and using a couple of single ended stereo versions for center and surrounds
No airflow. The amps will need to go inside a media console that have doors in front.
I guess I could always open the doors when listening to music and/or using it as a HT system
First of all, the chassis of the amplifier needs to have holes for ventilation. Second, can the media console be open in the back, and maybe have a silent fan ?
