A: (A lot of) money exchanging hands is involved.
B: Many people believe in what is spouted.
C: It looks great/impressive/expensive/serious.
D: A rich audiophile does not want to be seen using a cheap of-the-shelf router.

So ... it sells and people will write and publish.

...and we give them klicks, which we probably should not.

And only 7499 GBP….Good thing it’s not 7500, I wouldn’t buy it then.

I put it in my group chat with my sons (all engineers, including electrical/computer). Two of them are founder/early employee in a bio-informatics tech startup (hence the sequencing comment).

Hell, a rich audiophile could have a really bling bling custom made case built for a standard switch that would look incredible and would cost way less than this thing.

There are optical Ethernet switches and streamers made for audio. Not saying you can hear the difference (and I haven’t heard one), but if you want to eliminate any possibility of noise being conducted into your system, that would do it. I’d say it’s for people who want take things to the nth degree, just to be sure they have the best setup possible.

Yeah, I know what it is. First and foremost, it’s a way to separate stupid people from their money.

Yes, but I’m talking about items with 3 figure prices, not something approaching $10K

I'm surprised it doesn't have linear power supply. I ain't gonna buy an audiophile switch with a puny digital harsh sounding SMPS! The article mentions an older model with a separate PSU of "similar proportions" :D

A long time ago, I heard network noise every day :)

Only 7500 pounds to make my music sound ethereal? Sign me up for two.

OT: You can kill an elephant with an airgun. Aim it at the elephant - it dies laughing.
