After seeing (Hearing) I would say a few thousand songs, I stumbled across a handful of re-recordings. Most re-recordings are usually made in the 1980s with older artists with cheaper instruments while having higher fidelity. With Classic Country, they can be really good or really terrible. The best kind of Classic Country Re-Recordings is when 1950s artists re-record them in the 1960s.

The best I have of a good rerecording that I would say is all-round better, is "Charley Pride - Burgers and Fries". There is no info about when it was rerecorded but my guess is somewhere in the mid 1980s or newer?

Just a little side note:

I’ve heard of re-recordings some bands have done so that they could take back the ownership of their music from their not-so-nice record companies. Many artist have made the mistake of giving almost all the rights of their music to their record companies, but most of the deals don't cover new recordings of the same songs. :)

I heard about that with Taylor Swift and The Beatles. By the time artists re-record them nobody cares about them. I understand they want to make a quick buck but most of the time, these re-recordings have no love & no passion in them.
